How Calling a Contractor Changed My Life

This might sound completely crazy, but the most important call I ever may was to a construction contractor. I can remember the day as if it were yesterday. I had decided to rebuild parts of my home. This involved removing part of the roof, knocking down a brick wall and removing some electrical wires and water pipes. I started out just fine but then I started to have problems. I realised I was in out of my depth and decided to call an expert. The contractor who came around was great and he quickly fixed up the mess I had made. Since that day, I have had a keen interested in construction contractors. I hope you like this blog.

Elements to Incorporate for Trendy Commercial Building Design

For many business owners, the thought of commercial building design makes them envision functionality over creativity. And while commercial spaces do prioritise functionality much more than their residential counterparts do, this does not mean that you cannot have fun with the construction of your commercial property. What some individuals take for granted is how much of an art form the architectural design of their buildings are.

With the right construction contractors, you can strive towards designing a building that will not only meet your business' needs but will also have high aesthetic value, too. Resultantly, your commercial property becomes an asset for your business. To help you with some inspiration, here are some elements to incorporate for trendy commercial building design.

Eco-friendly design

Although commercial properties are associated with many things, one would rarely describe these buildings as being environmentally friendly since industrial operations are usually associated with environmental degradation, but this does not have to be the case. Over the years, sustainable building design has steadily become a staple for many projects, residential and commercial alike. The great thing about eco-friendly building design is that you have a wide selection of solutions that you can consider.

Energy efficiency, for example, is an integral part of sustainable building design and you can achieve this by installing double glazed windows, using construction materials with a high thermal mass and so on. Take note, sustainable building design does not only work to benefit the environment, but it is also advantageous to you, as you get to reap some cost savings, too.

Experiment with shapes

In decades past, the commercial building design was characterised by sleek lines and sharp edges. Certainly, these features do add a modern touch to commercial properties. Nonetheless, over the years, architectural design trends have evolved and this has led to the integration of perspective-bending shapes, more so the use the circles. The great thing about circles is that they do not just add visual interest to the building but are also highly functional.

For instance, juxtaposing circular windows with architectural grilles helps with breaking the monotony of the grilles. On the other hand, you could strategically place circular voids around the commercial property as a way of bringing the outdoors inside the property. The calculated placement of circular voids also helps with creating an open plan feel without having to do away with walls in their entirety.

Additional elements you can incorporate for trendy commercial building design include the use of smart glass, the creation of collaborative workspaces and so on.
