How Calling a Contractor Changed My Life

This might sound completely crazy, but the most important call I ever may was to a construction contractor. I can remember the day as if it were yesterday. I had decided to rebuild parts of my home. This involved removing part of the roof, knocking down a brick wall and removing some electrical wires and water pipes. I started out just fine but then I started to have problems. I realised I was in out of my depth and decided to call an expert. The contractor who came around was great and he quickly fixed up the mess I had made. Since that day, I have had a keen interested in construction contractors. I hope you like this blog.

3 Ways Your Walls are Telling You They Need Waterproofing

Have you been wondering why your walls are not in the best state? Have you noticed any form of damage that you cannot explain? Are your tenants asking you constantly to repaint their walls? Below are three ways in form of damages that occur as a result of poor or lack of wall waterproofing and how to handle them.

1. Frequent indoor temperature fluctuation

When you are spending so much money on electricity bills and heater installations on your rental building, perhaps it is time to get your building waterproofed. The more your building's walls seep water from the rain or the atmosphere, the cooler the inside becomes and the more air heating you and your tenants will need. The opposite is true. When there is a high evaporation rate in the atmosphere, the building will lose the moisture that it has been holding on to, making the indoor areas seem dry and hot. Commercial waterproofing services will assist in preventing these unexpected temperature changes, therefore, reducing the air conditioning bills.

2. Cracking of your paint and walls

Crack marks on the wall paints can be as a result of a bad paint job or water damage. The more walls seep water in and out, the more your paint and walls contract and expand. When this shift in state continues to occur, the paint and walls cannot hold the tension and so they begin to crack. Hiring commercial waterproofing services is essential because they will waterproof all the walls of your building as fast as possible. Commercial waterproofing services will also know how to handle different types of building materials so as to give you the best results. Some commercial waterproofing companies also deal with painting and so you may not have to contract a different service provider.

3. Growing of moss, mould and mildew

Not only will moss, mould, and mildew cause breathing problems, they also highly affect people that have allergic reactions. Moss, mould and mildew thrive in moist conditions. While moss will most likely grow on the exterior of your walls, mould and mildew prefer the warmth of the inside. Continued growth of moss, mould and mildew can lead to the gradual weakening of your building which if not repaired might lead to it collapsing. Hire commercial waterproofing services immediately you notice any of the three microorganisms growing. If you delay in getting rid of them, you might end up having to renovate or rebuild some parts of your buildings.
