How Calling a Contractor Changed My Life

This might sound completely crazy, but the most important call I ever may was to a construction contractor. I can remember the day as if it were yesterday. I had decided to rebuild parts of my home. This involved removing part of the roof, knocking down a brick wall and removing some electrical wires and water pipes. I started out just fine but then I started to have problems. I realised I was in out of my depth and decided to call an expert. The contractor who came around was great and he quickly fixed up the mess I had made. Since that day, I have had a keen interested in construction contractors. I hope you like this blog.

Ways of Using Concrete Cutters

The construction industry is one which comes along with a bevvy of tools. One example of such devices are the concrete cutters. They are specialised to cut through the hard set concrete with ease. The tools are sturdy and offer neat and precise cuttings which make work easier. You may have concrete that needs cutting yet you do not know how to go about this. Well here are two simple ways of cutting concrete that might be of help.

  1. Core Drilling – Core drilling refers to a process where a specially designed drill is used to cut cylinders into concrete. The approach exists in two variants which include dry core drilling as well as wet core drilling. The most preferred method between the two is wet core drilling as it comes with a lot of advantages which include dust control and faster drilling. The process also minimises the binding in cuts and leaves behind a long-lasting wall. Dry core drilling, on the other hand, can be used in cases where water is not accessible. It can also be used in instances where the slur left behind from the wet drilling is not acceptable in the given environment. In such a scenario, one would either use a standard handheld core drill or a core drill rig which will perform excellently. It is also preferable to do horizontal drilling compared to vertical as this will give you greater binding. When wet and dry drilling, it is also important to have a muzzle which can be incorporated with a vacuum to contain the slurry and dust respectively. The major accessories in core drilling include the core bits, the handheld core drills as well as the impact drills.
  2. Concrete Sawing – Concrete sawing is yet another cutting technique where circular blades are used to slice through concrete walls. The concrete saws come with a track mounted machine which assists to climb high walls and ceilings. Concrete saws are also used in road construction and reconstruction where road segments are sawed to increase flexibility and durability. They are also used in retrofitting older buildings which do not adhere to the current building standards. The saws are used to separate the structures from the foundations to give room for better architectural development. There are various types of saws depending on the size and type of application. These range from the simple portable handheld saws to the walk behind saws. The saws are powered by hydraulics, gas or even electricity. They use a diamond concrete blade which can cut through concrete as fast and effortless as possible.
