How Calling a Contractor Changed My Life

This might sound completely crazy, but the most important call I ever may was to a construction contractor. I can remember the day as if it were yesterday. I had decided to rebuild parts of my home. This involved removing part of the roof, knocking down a brick wall and removing some electrical wires and water pipes. I started out just fine but then I started to have problems. I realised I was in out of my depth and decided to call an expert. The contractor who came around was great and he quickly fixed up the mess I had made. Since that day, I have had a keen interested in construction contractors. I hope you like this blog.

Use engineered timber trusses on your next building project

If you have ever been involved in building construction you will be aware of the advantages that a timber truss can offer a building compared to a steel truss. A timber truss is not only cheaper to purchase than a steel one it is in many ways superior. Timber wall frames offer better noise control than steel, they are more fire resistant than steel and also more energy efficient. All of these advantages are well known, but this is only a fraction of the benefits that a timber truss can bring to your new building. What are not so often considered by builders are the technological benefits of a timber truss.

How does technology make timber more effective?

Timber frames and trusses that have been designed using the latest technology can greatly enhance any building. Engineered wooden trusses and timber wall frames are now created using the most advanced computer technology. They are designed to be entirely uniform to allow the creation of pitch-perfect roofs that need less expertise to install, while adding to the buildings structural integrity. These engineered trusses can cover longer spans and permit the use of more complex designs than traditional methods. They allow architects freedom to create a roofing style that is both aesthetically pleasing and beautifully functional. The longer spans also mean the creation of less load-bearing internal walls, meaning the interior of the building is more roomy with plenty of open space.

How are engineered timber trusses created?

Each timber truss is designed for a specific roof configuration. The roof design, including each truss and all the related connections is completed using computer software to create a drawing which contains the essential information for each truss. This design information is then used to fabricate each truss. The timber is cut and shaped according to the design. The metal connecting plates are then fitted before all the timber trusses are delivered to the building site ready for assembly. As each engineered timber truss is designed for a certain location and is sent with the connecting plates already fitted assembly on site is a rapid process. The timber trusses can be quickly fitted into their final positions in the building.

If you are planning a new building project contact your truss supplier to find out how using engineered timber trusses could provide you with a superior building that is created using the latest technology, and designed to last well into the future.
